OUR OFFERINGS

  • Open Decks is a practice space for new and aspiring Black & Queer DJs to learn, play, and connect. Bring your music (USB) or your own equipment, practice mixing and meet other young DJs in the city! Often times with special guest facilitators from the Black DJ community.

    We have professional gear (CDJs) available or try out our intro-level controllers. Some DJ experience is recommended. Drop-in for free!

  • Description text goes hereDJ Basics is a dynamic workshop open to Black/Black queer participants only! Designed with inclusivity and creativity in mind, this workshop is tailored for Black and queer individuals eager to explore the art of DJing!

    This intro-level DJ workshop covers all things DJ Basics, including a brief history of the craft, software & hardware options, mixing techniques and 1-on-1 support for anyone beginning or along in their DJ journey looking to learn or develop their skills. All levels are welcome and no previous experience is needed.

    You'll have plenty of time to practice on the equipment, which includes multiple DDJ-REV 1s and a DJControl Hercules Impulse 500.

    Our facilitators will also share some advice, stories from their experience in the field, and their own personal mixing process with participants!

  • Decks Ajar is an open decks showcase event at The Hub Market Cafe. A cute social vibe to spend your Sunday afternoon and enjoy genre-filled sounds while you sip on something sweet!

    The event spotlights DJs from Pass the Vibes and beyond.

    Local or guest DJs are invited to sign up for a 30-minute slot, with video recording options to help build their portfolio. Emerging & established DJs are welcome to spin a set in front of a live and loving audience.

    Not a DJ? Just come for the vibes!

    All are welcome to come, this space is intended to be cozy and Black & QTBIPOC centered, always!

  • Wellness events offer low-barrier access to holistic healing experiences in affirming spaces. By integrating community wellness events throughout the year, we provide opportunities for youth to recharge and connect.

    Activities such as meditation, yoga, painting, vision boarding, journaling and more are offered in a curated space to foster community care amongst participants. Hosted by Black guest facilitators from the community.

    These events are Black & QTBIPOC centered, creating safer space for emotional release, cultural expression, seasonal attunement, and healing.
